Catastrophe

Catastrophe is an educational engineering game that enables the manipulation of 2D structural configurations under real-time simulated physics. The model is based on a mass-spring system in which particles are linked by linear elements that have axial stiffness. Catastrophe has been designed to be a qualitative teaching aid. The game format challenges the user to remove as many elements from the structure as possible without causing it to collapse thus giving an understanding of robustness, stability and redundancy.
